Conservation Commission Minutes 11/17/10
Town of Greenfield
Conservation Commission Minutes
November 17, 2010

Attending: Roger Lessard, Carol Irvin, Karen Day, Neal Brown

Carol updated us on her question to the Wetlands Reserve Program (NRP) folks about the restoration on the Robertson land. No one has been able to answer her question about our commitment.

Warrant article for the 2011 town meeting about the Conservation Fund. Karen to get wording as specified from the NH Conservation Commission.

Karen related a call from Meade Cadot about some information he wanted concerning zoning.

Carol told us that Gordon Russell who is the founder of the Russell Foundation now wants to cover Greenfield, although they will continue to have a focus on preserving Rand Brook.

Cell tower: Carol has continued to monitor the cell tower application on Zepher road. The driveway leading to the landowner’s and would be used to service the tower traverses a wetlands. At least two concerns are apparent at this time: (1) is the heavy equipment that will bring in the cement and equipment necessary to build the town may crush the culvert that is under the driveway and allows water to flow from one side of the wetlands to the other; and (2) they will have to build a driveway leading up to the tower, which could impact the entire side of the hill and ultimately disturb the wetlands at the base of the hill.

The Commission voted to cancel the December meeting.

Adjourned at 8:30pm

Next meeting will be January 26th.
